High school students must meet the following criteria in order to participate: Minimum 2.7 unweighted high school GPA AND be 16 years old OR have completed half of their high school graduation requirements. If a student does not meet the GPA and age requirement, a recommendation from a school official is required.

What GPA do most colleges require? A general rule of thumb is that a 2.0 GPA, or a “C” average, is required for admission to most colleges and universities. This minimum GPA can also be a requirement for financial aid, scholarships and graduation.
